We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the whole VanManoo website. Accessibility is a first-class product priority, not an afterthought.
What we already do
- Keyboard navigation for all interactive elements
- Colour contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 AA on all text and buttons
- Semantic HTML, proper heading structure, and ARIA labels where needed
- Alt text on all meaningful images
- Descriptive link text — no “click here” anti-patterns
- Text resizable up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Video content presented with clear controls (autoplay muted by default)
- 10-language Google Translate widget for non-English speakers
Known limitations
We know some areas of the site still need work. In particular:
- Live-chat support widget is being upgraded to fully support screen readers.
- Some driver profile photos are user-uploaded and may lack detailed descriptions — we're rolling out driver guidance for better alt text.
- Video captions and transcripts for our guides are being added in phases through 2026.
Assistive technology support
VanManoo is tested with the latest versions of common screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS) and browser zoom levels up to 200%. If you use assistive technology and encounter a barrier, please tell us at hello@vanmanoo.uk — we treat every report as a real product bug and aim to acknowledge within 3 working days.
